As an Investor -
- How confident are you that the board and management will deliver?
- Do you think a professional second opinion would help?
- How can you influence management to perform?
- Are you happy with your relationships with companies?
- Is your track record for assessing the human side good enough?
Now that we have a framework where most people agree what the optimum is, I hope that companies and their institutional shareholders can move together. But that requires institutions to change the way they approach these things. The sort of skills that you need in order to have these strategic discussions with companies are not necessarily those of traditional investment managers.
